    Journey to aMAYzing Manager

    Program Overview


    JOURNEY to AMAYzing MANAGER program is a 4-month training and development program to grow our current employees as well as qualified external applicants into a Residential Program Coordinator. We will provide both classroom and on the job training, guidance and mentorship, and a structured outline throughout the program to give you all the resources and tools needed to succeed in our JAMM program.

    (External Applicants will first spend a week before JAMM program to obtain certification on First Aid/ CPR/ Safety Care)

    The Journey to aMAYzing Manager (JAMM) program offers a unique 4-month training opportunity for prospective or current employees of the Cape Cod Adult Services Division of May Institute, Inc.


    Grow and develop your skills in leadership, management and effective communication along the journey to becoming a successful Program Coordinator (PC).


    JAMM provides both on the job and in classroom training on every aspect of residential program management, giving you to tools needed to become an aMAYzing leader!

    What can you expect from JAMM?

    • A support group from Day 1! Start this program with a group of your peers who will be on this journey alongside you.
    • Two-day introduction the program, May Institute, and what makes our jobs so aMAYzing!
    • On the job training at the residences, introducing you to the ins and outs of what it takes to be a great Direct Support Professional, so you can mentor your team in the future.
    • Two breakout sessions putting you in a classroom setting each time for a week to develop your management and people skills, and give more in depth training on how to properly manage a house, and provide our individuals served with the best quality of life daily.
    • Real time feedback and performance evaluations to help you focus on areas of development
    • Multiple one on one training sessions in the residences with our current PCs, providing further leadership and house management skills
    • Cross training in multiple residences, building out your network of peers and mentors while seeing what makes other residences feel more like a home.
    • FUN! Go on outings with our individuals and get to take in all that Cape Cod has to offer! Who wouldn’t want to go to the movies or the beach while working!
    • An aMAYzing experience; you will be changing lives and building futures with your team, giving our individuals the ability to live their best life.




      • Help ensure the quality of the program by coordinating the daily activities and programs for all the consumers 
      • Provide the consumers with an intensively therapeutic program designed to enhance community acceptability and increase independence
      • Provide individualized treatment procedures by assessing the consumer skills
      • Develop and implement annual goals for each consumer
      • Assist consumers in the day to-day maintenance of their environment
      • Assist with individual medical and healthcare provider appointments


      • Open availability for scheduling including nights weekends and holidays- your hours will be determined based off availability of trainers
      • Ability to travel to training locations. We will try to place you as close to your home location as possible, but you may be required to train at other residences during your 4 months in the program
      • Associates degree (or currently enrolled in Bachelor’s program) in Human Services, Psychology, Healthcare Management, or other relevant programs.
