    May Institute has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Training Specialist based in Randolph, MA.   The Senior Training Specialist will lead the planning and facilitating of a variety of training activities, including a blend of operational and supervisory training.  The ideal candidate has strong facilitation and project management experience, with training design experience a plus.  The position reports to the Director of Training and Development.


    • Develop and implement project plans for selected initiatives, including training to support the transition to a new HRIS and the roll-out of active shooter training across the entire organization
    • Plan, organize, conduct and evaluate a variety of training activities including scheduling, preparation of materials, and reserving facilities and equipment. This includes supervisory training, as well as supporting new hire orientation.
    • Assists in assessing training needs and (re)designing current and new training programs, applying instructional design principles as necessary.
    • Manage electronic training records in the Maestro Learning Management System (LMS); documents and tracks training and follows up, as needed.
    • Collaborates with key stakeholders within the department and across the organization.


    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in training & development, public or business administration, organization development, or related preferred
    • Minimum of three years’ experience leading training programs, including supervisory and management training, in person and virtually, as needed
    • Outstanding facilitation, conflict management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
    • Exceptional customer service skill; strong commitment and skill working with a diverse employee population
    • Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities and strong time management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a variety of stakeholders and in a team-orientated environment, including working with subject matter experts (SMEs)
    • Strong MS Office/PowerPoint proficiency; demonstrated skill and comfort in learning and implementing new technology successfully
    • Curriculum development a plus, including instructor-led, online, and blended learning; demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles
