The May Center for Adult Services is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to provide supervision to nursing staff while also coordinating and ensuring the quality, accuracy and thoroughness of all health care services provided to individuals in our care. 


  • Provide nursing assessment and intervention to individuals both in the day habilitation program and residential programs as needed.
  • Obtains and maintains knowledge of all individual’s medical history, current medications and behaviors.
  • Train and advise staff on medical practices and procedures including MAP.
  • Administer day habilitation medications and monitor medication records.
  • Coordinates and participates in bi-monthly psychiatric consultations and obtains new orders for recommendations made.
  • Communicate with families, group homes and medical offices regarding individual health care needs.
  • Maintain quality of health and safety standards by overseeing medical reporting systems and evaluating data as necessary.
  • Monitors supply of medical products.
  • Facilitates referrals to medical providers as needed.
  • Review/revise medical policies in accordance with all corporate policies and state and federal regulations.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current RN licensure in the state of MA
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory and management experience in related field required
  • Previous experience providing care to adult individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  • Previous behavioral experience strongly preferred
  • MAP certified trainer preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medications used in the population served
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
